UTD wins Traveling Trophy for Spring Wellness Challenge: Feel Like a Million

THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the UT System Spring Wellness Challenge, Feel Like a Million and congratulations to everyone for taking steps to live healthy every day! Together, we logged a total of 35,786,622 steps or about 17,500 miles during the month-long challenge! Team UTD finished 1st place overall and 1st place for the medium-sized institutions and is on a winning streak with the traveling trophy! In addition to Physical Activity, Brain Stimulating Activity and Time in Nature were the most popular health behaviors. We hope everyone enjoyed the Feel Like a Million challenge and will continue to engage in energy-boosting activities to feel YOUR best!
Registration Period: March 21 – April 8
Challenge Dates: April 4 – May 1
Feel Like a Million is a board game-themed program to increase energy and help participants feel their best. Each day participants record one or more energy-boosting activities, they will earn virtual dollars and experience progress by moving along the gameboard. Every activity is a move closer to achieving the goal of $1 million virtual. There will be the option of earning extra points on Thrive Thursdays for those participating on a team. Let’s get moving and help UTD win the Traveling Trophy 😊
Overall Program Goal: $1 Million Virtual in the 4-week challenge. ($250,000 per week)
Points
Physical Activity (required behavior):
- 6000-7999 steps = $20,000
- 8000-9,999 steps = $25,000
- 10,000+ steps = $30,000
Additional Health Behaviors = $15,000. Participants may choose up to two different health behaviors every week. Options:
- Bedtime Relaxation Routine
- Balanced Meals
- No Sugar-Sweetened Beverages
- Brain Stimulating Activity
- Time in Nature
Thrive Thursday
Participants in an official team are challenged to complete an additional activity featured every Thursday on the Team page called Thrive Thursday. When all team members log the activity by midnight (CST), they will earn a bonus $5,000 toward the team score. Thrive Thursday points do not impact individual scores.
Logging:
Participants can log steps manually or connect an activity tracker on the Settings page. Step Converter is available to record activities not accurately measured with a tracking device, such as swimming, cycling, rowing, etc.
Everyone who signs up for the challenge will receive an incentive to get started and participants who reach the challenge goal will receive a completion reward. Register for Feel Like a Million and get moving, spend time in nature, sleep better, eat healthfully, make connections… and more!
